Every Wood-O-Kidz toy passes through human hands before it reaches yours little one's hand. Not simply through a production line, but through the hands of skilled artisans in Jaipur many of whom have worked with wood for longer than Wood-O-Kidz has existed. For us, that matters. Because when something is made for a child, we believe the process should be as thoughtful as the purpose.

Wood-O-Kidz toys are made in small batches, with skilled artisan-led production rather than mass manufacturing.
Wood is shaped, sanded, assembled and finished with attention to the individual piece. You may notice subtle differences in grain, the way an edge is softened, or the way two pieces fit together. These aren't imperfections to us. They are reminders that something was made by a person, not simply produced by a machine.
No two pieces of natural wood are exactly alike. And no two handmade toys need to be either.

Wood-O-Kidz is a first-generation venture founded and designed by Sneha Ajmera in Jaipur, built as part of the larger Shobha Kraft Global an established export business with years of experience in craftsmanship, manufacturing and working with wood.
That experience shapes the way we make our toys.
Sneha is closely involved in the journey of every product from the first idea and the design process to material selection, prototyping, production and the final piece. With a deep understanding of woodworking and a designer's eye for detail, she works directly with the makers to refine how each toy is made, not simply what it looks like. And as a mother, she brings another perspective to the process.
The result is a process where design and making stay closely connected.
Craftsmanship Is About People, Too
When we talk about mindful making, we're not only talking about wood.
We're talking about the people behind it.
India has a rich tradition of woodworking and craftsmanship, passed from one generation to another. As mass manufacturing has grown, many traditional skills and livelihoods have faced increasing pressure.
We believe there is value in keeping skilled craftsmanship part of the making process.
Every Wood-O-Kidz toy supports a network of people whose skill, experience and attention are part of what makes the finished product possible.
Our membership with the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) is part of our connection to India's wider handicraft ecosystem and our commitment to responsible participation in it.
Handmade Doesn't Mean Compromising on Safety
We know what parents may wonder:
If it's handmade, is it still consistent? Is it still safe?
Absolutely.
Handmade describes how something is made, not the standard it has to meet.
Our products are designed with age-appropriate safety in mind, including considerations such as rounded edges, appropriate sizing and suitable finishes. Each product is reviewed against the safety requirements relevant to its intended use.
The artisan's role is to bring skill and care to the making process.
Our responsibility is to make sure that care is matched by a consistent standard of safety.

Wood-O-Kidz has been recognised as Best Indian Handmade Toy Brand by Kids Stop Press in 2024 and 2025.
We are grateful for that recognition, but what matters most to us is what it represents: an appreciation of the craftsmanship, thought and care that goes into creating toys in India.
